Our personal favourite Ikos: 47 acres on the south-west coast of Kos, looking across Kefalos Bay to the tiny island of Kastri.
We've stayed five times, most recently with a three year old and a newborn, so we know exactly which suite to ask for and how to make the week work for your family.

Our take
The benchmark for all-inclusive
For us, Ikos is the benchmark for all-inclusive, and Aria has become our personal favourite. The resort is spread over more than 47 acres, so there's always a quiet, shady corner, and if you'd rather be on the beach there are cabanas and lunch can be brought to you.
The food is excellent and the service really good. Everything is included, from more than 100 premium wines to the ice cream at the Gelaterie, and every request can be made through the WhatsApp concierge, which is very handy with a baby in your arms.
A couple of things to know: if all your children are under four, the crèche is paid rather than included, and if you want bars and nightlife on your doorstep, Kos Town is 45 minutes away.

What we tell every guest
- With little ones, choose a suite with a separate bedroom, so naps can happen behind a closed door.
- In the Deluxe Collection you can pre-book every à la carte restaurant before you arrive, so you can lock in early tables that fit around bedtime.
- Book the crèche before you travel: ratios are low, so spaces go quickly.
- Take the electric MINI to Kos Town and the mountain village of Zia, and ask us for child seats when we book it.
- Cots, baby baths, monitors and prams are all available on request, and we arrange them so they're waiting when you arrive.

Good to know
- All-inclusive covers the à la carte restaurants, the buffet, room service, more than 100 wines, the kids' club from age four, Dine Out, an electric MINI for a day and a Culture Pass.
- The crèche (six months to four years) costs €42 a session, or €32 for the 13:00 to 15:00 session. Babysitting is also extra.
- The Heroes Supper Club for 4 to 12 year olds runs from 19:00 to 22:00, at €30 per child, and is included in the Deluxe Collection.
- Dine Out currently includes Kochylari, about 2km away, and Mylotopi, about 4km away.

Kids & families
Brilliant with babies and toddlers
We've stayed with a three year old and a ten week old, and the hotel had everything we could possibly need. The kids' club team send messages and pictures during each session, so you can see how they're getting on without hovering by the door.

Low ratios, as little as one adult to three children for under twos. €42 a session, or €32 for 13:00 to 15:00. Book before you travel.
