Our take
Ikos comes to Crete
Ikos Kissamos is the eighth Ikos resort and the first on Crete. It sits 2km from the fishing village of Kissamos on the island's far west, about 45 minutes from Chania, in a corner of Crete known for wild beaches like Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa island.
The grounds are the story here: 53 acres of lavender mazes, olive groves, sensory gardens and walking trails, with eight pools, including children's pools, and a splash pad. The food follows the Ikos formula, with Kriti and Fresco by Michelin-starred chef Ettore Botrini and La Plage by Michelin-starred chef Pascal Barbot, plus Dine Out at local tavernas.
Ikos Kissamos suits guests who want the full Ikos experience in a wilder, greener corner of Greece. Families get the pools, the Heroes clubs and a beach on Kissamos Bay, while couples can wander the lavender mazes and save their evenings for La Plage and Kriti. It also makes a superb base for west Crete, with Balos Lagoon a boat trip away. The first reviews since its April 2026 opening praise the food and the service.

What we tell every guest
- A Family Room is two interconnected Superior Double Rooms, which sleeps up to five and gives parents their own space.
- In the Deluxe Collection you can reserve restaurants in advance, and the Heroes Supper Club is included.
- Book the crèche and kids' club sessions before you travel: ratios are low, so spaces are limited.
- Ask us to arrange a boat trip to Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa island, at an extra cost.
- For a special dinner, make La Plage your first booking: Pascal Barbot's French restaurant sits by the sea, with Provençal flavours by day and Riviera-style dining by night.

Good to know
- All-inclusive covers the à la carte restaurants, The Market, 24-hour room service, more than 100 wines, a minibar restocked daily, the Heroes Kids Club from age four, Just4Teens and Dine Out.
- The crèche (six months to four years) costs €42 a session, or €32 for the 13:00 to 15:00 session. Babysitting is also extra.
- The Heroes Supper Club for 4 to 12 year olds runs from 19:00 to 22:00, at €30 per child, and is included in the Deluxe Collection.
- Canoes, paddleboards and pedalos are included once a day for 30 minutes. The Ikos Spa is adults only, with a teens' menu for over 12s.

Where you'll stay
All sixteen room types at Ikos Kissamos, grouped the way Ikos groups them. The Deluxe Collection adds a dedicated concierge, its own pool and beach area, advance restaurant reservations and two massages per suite.
Couples should ask for a Junior Suite with a sea view, which has expansive windows and a private balcony. To go further, the Deluxe One Bedroom Suite Private Pool adds a separate lounge and a pool of your own.

Kids & families
Something for every age
Clubs run indoors and out across the gardens and pools, and the restaurants have healthy children's menus. Spaces are limited by staff-to-child ratios, so we book sessions before you travel.
Heroes Crèche, 6 months to 4 years
Sensory and messy play and outdoor exploration, with ratios from one adult to three children for under twos. €42 a session, or €32 for 13:00 to 15:00.
Heroes Kids Club, 4 to 12 years
Eco activities, water games, sports and arts and crafts, at no extra cost.
Heroes Supper Club, 4 to 12 years
A buffet dinner and supervised fun from 19:00 to 22:00, €30 per child, included for Deluxe Collection guests.
Just4Teens and Football Academy
Just4Teens for 12 and over at no extra cost. The Football Academy runs Monday to Saturday mornings with professional coaches, from €20 a session.
Baby kit
Baby monitors, baby baths, toilet adapters and prams on request, ramps and lifts for buggies, an adventure playground, and babysitting at an extra charge.
With little ones, we'd book a Family Room Private Garden: two connected rooms with terraces onto your own garden, so naps and early bedtimes don't keep you indoors. Tell us what baby kit you need, from prams to baby baths, and we'll request it when we book.

Relax, play and explore
Spa and wellness
The adults-only Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin Paris, with a Thermal Suite, private treatment rooms and a hair and nails salon. Treatments are extra; Deluxe Collection stays include two 25-minute massages per suite.
Sport and the grounds
Four tennis courts, padel, a five-a-side pitch, volleyball, a gym and classes from yoga to Pilates, plus walking trails, picnic spots and sensory gardens across 53 acres.
Exploring west Crete
Private boat tours and yacht days to Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa island, excursions to Crete's highlights and scuba diving, all at an extra cost.
